This is my scar from my complete thyroidectomy procedure I had last April 2009 because of Papillary Thyroid Cancer.
I am getting better, I know.
I am surviving it.
I am a testimony of God's goodness.
This is ME.
This is what happened to me.
This shaped who I am and who I will be.

when i first viewed it what drew me in was the positioning of the head, the killer eyelashes (well it is true) down to the scar.
i look at the scar and the position of the head and i hear, this is a part of me, i am who i am and i have a story to tell.
the background and lighting add to the quality of the photograph and do not detract from it. in fact imo i think any other color would detract.
the composure, lighting, background and subject all work wonderfully well together.
from one survivor to another, well done.
Wow
This photograph is stunning!
When I first saw this photograph it took me by surprise how powerful it is.
I love how your head is turned back, like you are in pain.
Also how your skin is pale, like all of your energy has been drained out of you.
The scar draws you in; which is great! But it could've been more focused because this is not what first catches my eye when I look at the photo.
The lighting (which i presume is from the window) is superb.
Overall this is a stunning and powerful image.
Very well done
