When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

This is a photo of everyday life in the Philippines. A commonality in almost every street in the metro and suburbs - a homeless young boy, half naked and hopeless. Nothing left to wear, nothing left to eat. No home, no family. No hope - for now. If only we could do something. Something to change this cruel yet predictable world. One step at a time, one step at a time.
-- "Whenever you feel sad Whenever you feel down and out Lost love, falling grades, crappy friends or what The thinking of ruining your life Ending or asking for something new Cursing how much you hate it Think about this Someone would rather live your life Someone who needs help rather than being fed Someone... Someone.. Try living your life through us, Live your life through our daily eyes." -- Manila, Philippines. -- Featured in here: [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] -- Entered in the Christmas Contest in here [link] Daily DeviationGiven 2009-11-29Suggester says, "We always want more and more, nowadays some of us live very comfortably but we still always ask for more... Now look at this photo and ask yourself... Do I really need all the things I have? This world is crying and screaming for help but we are always so busy! For Now... by *jeyminems CommentsMy cousin is going to live there in that exact city for a few years.. but the photos she showed me were so majestic and rich. It's hard to believe that there are poor kids like that over there too.
You captured the emotion very well. I really pity this boy, especially when I know my cousin will also be there except so much better off -- ♥__ you Hidden by Owner Hi.

I think that you could of edited it so that darker parts of the picture we're more dark so it contrasts well the light parts. This is a child on the street and the contrast between how dark and shocking this is and how innocent and fragile this child really is. you have to be careful with black and white photography, as it can sometimes look as if the photographer hasn't bothered to edit it and has lazily changed it to black and white.
However, the picture being deprived of colour makes it so much more shocking and cold and has a much bigger impact on the viewer.
I'd love to see some more documentary photography. Well done.
The text "If only we could do something" makes us feel cold, makes us feel the helplessness of this homeless boy, it makes us want to argue, disagree, and say we can do something. Making us all just want to bring this boy home and give him a place to eat and sleep.
This image is just that powerful. I recommend everybody look at this. Feel this. Don't let this boy disappear forever. Let's know this, and know where we stand, first world country or third world. We all can feel this. We can feel, as humans alike.
